Have you ever stood
still and felt
An overwhelming tenderness
A deep sorrow
Watching the world as you know it
Collapse in one great rubble?
Will you feel rage and hatred?
Will you feel compassion and care?
Will you think how you will make them pay?
Will you think how you can help them heal?
When you greet fire with fire
You make a gigantic ball
Until its big enough to topple
Everything on its way
Have you seen fire greet calm water
And meet in tranquillity?
The great fire quiets as its passed
From one calming presence to another
I am not a great hero nor done any great deeds
But this much I can be, a bearer of hope
To let the pained souls know love is possible
And maybe the great ball will quiet as its passed
From one loving heart to another

Prayer for World Leaders Mother-Father God:
We ask that all our
elected representatives and
appointed officials,
as well as our
business and world leaders
be surrounded with
and protected by Your Light.
We ask that their
every thought, word and action
come from their
Higher Selves
and serve the
highest good for our country and the world.
Acknowledging our
oneness with each other and with all creation,
we ask this in Your
Name.
And so it is. Carol Hansen Grey |
Australia September 2001 I will never forget that skyline scene
and the dawning of the realisation
that we are all one world and all involved
regardless of geographic location.
All around me now people seem lost
a frightened, insecure nation
Sociologist call this "anomie"
a time of disorientation.
I still remember "give peace a chance"
the cry of my generation
Now it’s revenge and "kill them all"
Did we fail in our obligation?
Will our leaders react with due restraint
heard in minor party oration?
Or will we forget the cost and regret
that we learnt from my dad's generation?
We have much to protect, none must deny
what has happened since our Federation
But how will it seem twenty years down the track
will we still have our proud reputation?
I feel so ashamed of quick-fix reactions
based on votes and media sensation
when we need the humane the creative and wise
to speak out against mass degradation.
There's no easy solution, it’s not black and white
but don’t base it on vilification.
Don’t abandon the values of love and respect
There's no victory in humiliation.

My Personal Revenge My personal revenge will be to see the light of understanding
dawning in your eyes
to hear the song of jubilation chorus in our ears
to taste the sweet taste of toleration tripping on our tongues;
to know that never again will anyone be starving so that some may
eat their fill,
and a few with limitless gluttony devour the common heritage of
all humankind:
So that the deaths of 5,000 human beings will not be weighed
against the slow and grinding death of spirit of countless
billions of sparks of divinity.
My personal revenge will be the appearance of the Godhead to every
single soul
the smile playing about your lips as you bathe in the glow of
cosmic One-ness and know for sure that that is really How It IsRon Reed |
